A true award winning best bitter with universal appeal. Tiger Best Bitter is a classic example of getting the perfect balance between sweetness and bitterness. Crystal malt gives the beer its rounded toffee character. Tiger is the Official Beer of the Leicester Tigers.

Cask at Everard's Beerhall.
Pale copper. Small lasting white head. Foamy lace. Aroma light fruity toffee. Taste light toffee sweetness. Hint of fermenting plums. Nice woody zest bitterness to balance. Lots of character. Lively feel. Nice balance. Excellent.

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV of the bottled version is 4.5%. Amber to orange coloured beer, large and lasting off-white head with an orangey hue. Moderate fruity aroma with raisiny notes. The flavour is moderately fruity and malty, hints of caramel and toffee, with spicy hops. Definitely drinkable, but does not call out the tiger in me.

An old favourite of mine. A proper English Ale with an excellent dry hoppy taste. Well recommended to any proper beer drinker.

Hand pumped at Rutland & Derby in Leichester. Copper colored. Easy to drink. A very nice English ale.

Cask. Hand pulled. Amber with a light frothy head.

Tastes similar. Nicely balanced with a medium bitter finish.
Mid range body with soft cask conditioned feel.

It pours a nice cloudy amber colour which takes a while to clear up. It smells nice and balanced, not too much of anything, just some hops and malts.
The taste is very nicely balanced as well, very quaffable indeed, and quaff we did! Overall this is a lovely drinkable pint, nothing remarkable but subtle and nicely drinkable which is a quality seemingly rare these days.

My what an exceptional pint I got served today, superb
a real good real ale served really well.
It all came together superbly it was even a sunny day in Manchester lol.
A burnished glowing amber pint that took a while to settle to reveal a clear body and thick creamy pure white head.
The first sup was a hoppy punch that cleared the palate from one spicy meatball from an Italian restaurant.
A real bitter kick with a well rounded after taste and creaminess running through that took me back twenty years to Boddingtons brewed at Strangeways.
