I had this beer on-tap in a nonic glass at the brewery in Aberdeen.
Appearance: medium gold hue with a clear body and a strong effervescence. Head is a finger of frothy white foam.
Smell: grainy malt aroma with a little bit of light yeastiness. Perhaps a little on the astringent side, but okay.
Taste: same assessment as the aroma, really. Grainy malt, a bit astringent. The bitterness is nice, though.
Mouthfeel: light body with a good carbonation and refreshing fizziness.
Overall: it’s not a terrible beer, but it’s not the best Kölsch in the world.
