An ode to one of our favorite hidden gems to relax and crack a fresh can after a long day of brewing. Quarry Juice pours a hazy light yellow color and is generously dry hopped with Citra & Apollo hops. We are psyched on this beer for its nuance as well as the big bold characteristics we love to find in a NEIPA. Full of hoppy fruit notes, subtle sweetness, and a textured softness all vying for attention with each sip!

Picked up a four pack of cans at Luke's Liquors in Plymouth, Massachusetts for about eighteen dollars. My eighth brew from these guys. Pretty solid beer.

Quarry Juice
Widowmaker Brewing
IPA - Imperial / Double NEIPA
Update from July 2020 review: 4/28/24. NO previous notes. > Hops are complex, green veggie, cucumber, prickly pear, and earthy tones are obvious. A dry and crisp bite at first, then very smooth but maybe slightly a malty cloying finish. Sweet and earthy

16oz can dated 7/7/21.
Pours cloudy yellow with an inch of white fluff. Moderate retention and lacing. Papaya, melon, and kiwi in the nose. Medium bodied with a soft, somewhat tacky mouthfeel. Juicy tropicals on the palate with minimal malt or bitterness. Mango, peach, melon, and orange. Finishes juicy and very tropical.

16 oz can into a tulip glass.
Pours a hazy golden straw color with 3 fatass fingers of frothy white head. Moderate retention. Leaves a few strings of sticky lacing.
The aroma brings strong notes of passion fruit and grapefruit, as well as some lemon zest, grass and pine. Dank. Just straight up dankjuice.
Lots of sweet, candied citrus with some mild grapefruit and passion fruit. A little bit of earthy pine on the finish.
The feel is medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. A little oily and boozy. Has a sharp hop bite on the finish.
Overall this is a pretty good NEIPA. It's very citrusy and a little dank, but it's not too well-balanced. Not bad. Definitely worth trying.

Thanks, Darin!
Was lucky enough to have this and nine others sent to me by Darin. Online description called for “Generously dry-hopped with Citra and Apollo, Quarry juice is big, bold and busting with hoppy fruit flavors. Subtle nuanced sweetness and a soft mouthfeel round out this easy drinking DIPA.” Wasn’t that familiar with Apollo going in. Hop profile online called for citrus peel and grapefruit. Seems like that would work great with Citra.
Poured a medium yellow-to-light gold hazy color with four fingers of rocky white head. Tons of bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled big Citra, grapefruit, tangerine, orange peel, lemon, pine, lime and dish soap. Much of the same from the can with the addition of peach. (Smell - 4.25)
Taste followed the nose for the most part, but not quite as good. In order got Citra, grapefruit, tangerine, orange peel, peach, lemon, pine, lime, dish soap and lingering peppery spice. Pretty smooth for 8 pct. ABV. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Abrupt citrusy finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Really liked this overall. This was excellent. (Overall - 4.25)

16oz. can served in a Spiegelau trip. Pours a turbid, milky orange huge with a loose, quarter inch, off-white colored head the sizzles and slowly disperses towards the shoulders. Nose reveals bright notes if citrus, pith and melon, as well as perhaps a trace of pineapple. Taste is very juicy, albeit not as bright as suggested by the nose with some essence of lemon, as well as perhaps a hint of pine. Mouthfeel is light in body with an assertive, spritzy carbonation that leaves a residual prickle across the tongue and an acidic burn at the back of the throat between quaffs. Overall, a decent NEIPA, with some old school IPA flavors in the profile that melds nicely with the NIEPA attributes. A slightly smoother carbonation and mouthfeel would knock it out of the park.

Can from tfontana, thanks for the trade.
Lemony yellow with a slight haze and a thin bubbly white head that dissipates slowly. Citrus earthy grass and a hint of pine with a sweet bready malt and a bit of alcohol.

A: The beer is rather hazy light pale yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left a narrow collar around the edge of the glass and a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface.
S: Moderate aromas of grapefruit are present in the nose along with notes of gooseberries.
T: The taste follows the smell and has additional nots of passion fruit and hints of lime. Little to no bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little juicy on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found the taste of this Imperial IPA to be quite flavorful but is easy to drink, as nearly all of the alcohol is masked from the taste.
