From the can: Made with water, grains, hops, yeast, passionfruit, Guatemalan cocoa nibs, fluff, graham crackers, vanilla, cinnamon, and lactose.
Cloudy, apricot juice like look. Small head which recedes to rim bubbles. No lace.
Oddly, the smell is mostly like cardamom or thyme. Not very sour, despite the name. Some black pepper, cinnamon, and oregano?
This is an unusual tasting beer. The can says, "imperial fruited sour." The title made me think of the hyper-sours I've had. It's not. The imperial must refer to the alcohol content--which isn't readily apparent in the taste. This is an extraordinarily complex beer. I get plenty of vanilla, some cocoa, and yes, some citrus tartness. Smooth body with enough carbonation to cut through. The beginning is creamy and fruity without being sweet. The ending is sour, but not overly so. There's also some hop bitterness in the finish. Overall, this is a special and very unusual beer and worth seeking out.
