The beer pours with a very big fluffy pink head, almost only head, then the clouded red brew settles while the head leaves little lacing but there are some curtains.
The smell is sour fruity, red berries and yeast.
Starts with sour raspberry lemonade wibes, like a soda with some vinegar. Not enough malt or sugar to balance it well, and not the lambic fresh sourness.
medium high carbonation, foamy bubbles, a coarse sour dryness. Small body.
Sorry this one did not really suit me. (The bottle is not Sainsburym but just "Meantime Raspberry wheat")

I tasted this 330ml bottle on 17.01.08 (best by 01.03.09). Brewed and bottled in the UK for Sainsbury's. The label also says "brewed with crushed raspberries".
It poured a hazy red brown brew with fizzy head.
Nothing much in the smell - average. The taste was disappointing; where did the fruit go? There was no obvious sign of raspberries, only a somewhat vinegary tang.
Not really the beer I was hoping for and I struggled to finish it.

Pour a cloud purpley amber colour with a big creamy pink head.
Aroma is quite unusual - red berries, wheats, but also something akin to ice cream. Very odd.
Taste is a little stranger. Although one would expect raspberries from this brew, there is a lingering dry and sour feel that reminds me a little of cranberries along with the raspberries. Then the wheats kick in, providing a yeasty and woody effect, topped off by a bitter finish when warmed.
Very crisp an good mouthfeel, but I would hazard a guess that too many of these would become quite nauseating.
But, for £1 a bottle, I'm certainly not complaining. Not the nicest fruit beer ever, but certainly different.

Thought i'd try this as a change
This beer is brewed by Meantime Brewrey for Sainburys under the taste the difference label.
Bought as a 4 pack, 330ml bottle , brown
Pours with a murky pink, brown body, with a semi whispy pink head. The smell is quite pleasant, giving off strong rasberry aromas.
Taste is crisp and refreshing, bitter rasberries but luckily not overly sweet, infact very little sweetness. Almost a lemony citrus, tastes like someone squeezed a lemon into my hefe
An interesting beer, very freshing so the summer is the time to drink this. I dunno how many i could drink in a session but its def. the right kinda beer for outside on a hot day
