Bottled and drank aboard an Uber Boat going down the Thames. Hard to complain about that. So I give good Overall Hugs to Meantime, despite being disappointed by them for most of this decade.
By clearly being a pils, Greenwich Lager had a chance to help define the British Lager emerging style. (And it is emerging as the UK also is getting warmer and needs lager refreshment.) Instead, Meantime piled in the hops in a not-so-subtle way; trying to be something without doing the work and testing the hop blend. While Greenwich Looks slightly above the average for a good-looking style, it Smells average; more aromatic hops and fewer bitter, please. Tastes are not balanced, but at least interesting in that I'm not sure how they arrived at such a bitter bill. Sufficiently bubbly, but a good pils also will show a medium-mouth and Greenwich is not there yet.
As I shift to another topic that we all know, Greenwich is the Zero Meridian (also known as Meantime) and serves as the horizontal separation on the globe for the Eastern and Western Hemispheres. Meantime Brewing had a chance to bring an Eastern style from Bavaria and Czechoslovakia into the Western world. Maybe in its next release, Meantime will be up to the task of better blending east and west cultures. Something we all need to think about.

Draught: Poured a clear yellow color lager with a medium white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of clean cereal notes with some herbal hops notes. Taste is also a mix of clean cereal notes with some faint residual sugar notes and some herbal notes.. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Refreshing lager..
