Pours a clear golden color. A frothy white layer of head yields lots of lacing and retains well.
Typical old school hops aromas display notes of grapefruit, orange and pine. I also detect notes of lemon, grass, a touch of chives, fruity/floral hops, biscuit and honey.
Classic WCIPA flavor profile, hops dominant, very citrusy and piney. Bready and biscuity malts provide the sweet backbone throughout, playing against the moderately assertive, herbal and resiny bitterness throughout. Notes of grapefruit rind, orange, lemon, pine, and grass.
Medium bodied, somewhere in between smooth and crisp. The finish is dry and resiny. Carbonation is moderate.
Nothing remarkable as I've feel I've had this beer thousands of times. At the same time, it is so textbook and on the money in terms of how it captures those classic WC flavors that drew me to the style years ago. I would definitely have again.
