Canned on 12/17/19. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours almost black; nice fluffy khaki head that falls leaving great retention and sticky lacing. The aromas have a nice amount of marshmallow up front. Subtle hints of cinnamon, peppermint and cocoa. Some pepper skin. Malts are there. The flavors are spice forward. More peppermint and cinnamon leading the way. The peppermint has a peppermint tea vibe going on. Some dark chocolate along with some mild hints of vanilla. Some anise and tarragon in the mix. Moderate bitterness. Solid malt backbone. Alcohol goes unnoticed for the most part. Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate to active carbonation. It's sharp, fluffy, slightly velvety and creamy, smooth and easy to drink.
This is a solid "Mexican Chocolate Stout". It basically has everything that you'd look for in the style. It might start off a little rough around the edges, but everything quickly comes together. It's enjoyable stuff. Not bad at all.

Tastes like licorice, didn’t get any cinnamon. Nothing like the description at all, literally none of the advertised flavors present.
