This lager was cool fermented but shares a lot of similar characteristics to a stout. It’s roasty, chocolate forward, and medium to thin-bodied.

06/30/23 draft @ Saucy Ohio City; atypical flavor profile for the style, but still damn tasty

On tap at Saucy in Sandusky. Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left some thin rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of roasted coffee, chocolate and toffee. Sweet chocolate and toffee taste with a coffee finish.

Dull blackish-brown with a short tan head receding swiftly.
While not terrible, exuding some leafy and almost smoky tobacco flavor, it also has an unusual amaretto sweetness to it that's unwelcome for the style, at least to me.
The medium body has a light fluff and finishes dusty dry.
I may have given a slightly inflated score for clever naming, but am overall disappointed in this, particularly because I typically love the style.
