Single & Wild Colon-Elle is a lambic blend with refermentation in the bottle. About 90% of the blend has matured for 18 months in bourbon whiskey barrels from brewery Het Anker in Mechelen. The result is a golden beer with an ABV of no less than 11% vol. with fine whiskey notes. The typical lambic character is also maintained.

Bright brassy golden tone, sharp clarity and ample foam that fizzles away quickly.

Aroma is citrus, sweet woody spice, mellow funk. Pretty understated but not bad.

Taste has notes of lemon, sesame, noticeable spirit bitterness. Feel is seltzery and overcarbed at first, like pop rocks candy. Fairly bitter with a warming booze note that surfaces as it warms. Bitterness and booze is a little jarring, not the smoothest. Needs a little more finesse to really shine.
