First pours from a oak cask at NERAX 2005.
Said cask was hand made by coopers at historic Strawberry Bank, with a brass spigot.
Poured cloudy gold/copper with a lively white head.
Big citrus aromas with tart peaches, oranges, grapefruit pith, and hints of lemon zest and cherries.
Medium bodied and very tasty.
Crisp and juicy on the pallet with light malt and a big fruity character. Lots of peaches with grapefruit.
Then comes the dry, slightly astringent oakiness.
The oak lingered long past the flavor of the beer.
Nicely done, lucky to have tried some.
The beer had not dropped bright yet, but we like some 'O dat flavor still in there!
