Peaches for Me is an IPA that gets a big fruity punch of Peach and Mango. Inspired by the tropical tones of the experimental hop HBC431, the citrusy and peachy Citra, and the brazen Bravo, this IPA gets a boost of fresh fruit flavor from peach and mango purees along with peach concentrate. Upfront peach and hop aroma give way to a smooth finish with hints of tropical mango and a touch of malt sweetness from the honey malt.

Poured from 12oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 6/25/20.
Appearance: medium golden hue with a light-to-moderate haze and a thin layer of frothy ivory foam atop. Not too bad.
Smell: brightly fruity and a little bit earthy; there's a sweetness here that I like. The hops are not really discernible under the peach and mango, but it seems like a perfectly cromulent fruit beer.
Taste: slightly sweet, with some good fruit character and a nice earthy undertone, as in the aroma; the overall effect is pretty autumnal to me. I like it as a refreshing fruit beer, but I wouldn't call it super successful as an IPA.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent level of carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: it's a decent beer, but perhaps not if you are specifically looking for an IPA.

Peaches For Me IPA, now year-round. 12oz can dated Apr 22 20, served in pint glass. Brassy golden color, nice thick head. Light and fruity, tropical aroma. Flavor immediately has a big presence that combines West coast IPA hop bitterness with a tart bite into a peach. Yet even though that tartness is there, the fruit flavors themselves are understated and play well with the tropical notes of the Citra and other hops. I don't find this at all sweet, although the finish is not the cleanest. More enjoyable than I'd thought but still not all that exciting for me.

its been so long since the last time i had a new beer from redhook that i cant even remember it. i didnt love this, but its nice to finally see some innovation. maybe its where ive been living, but it seems like new flavors have been few and far between from these guys. this is a fruit beer before its an ipa, which is not the way i usually like these to go. on top of that, the fruit is sweet, i think the mango addition is unnecessary, as it doesnt taste much like mango here, and i think it has a lot of sweetness that takes the peach from a somewhat natural to a more peach candy complexion, id be curious to taste the same brew without it. that said, the peach and the hops work well together, some fruitiness in the hops as well, and some bitterness that comes on late to help save some balance. i could stand a bit more from the hops, this is juicy and all, but more from the fruit, and the sweetness is just too much, it almost gives the beer a syrupy texture. they have hit on a cool flavor synergy though, and the potential is enormous i think, id love to know what the hops are, they are not readily identifiable to me here. some nice carbonation keeps it drinkable, and the peach linger on the palate is pleasant. it tastes and feels just a little bit cheap to me, but its a cool idea and its relatively successful of you like the fruit before the hops. for me i couldnt really do more than one, but its a fun summer drink nevertheless. drier and more hoppy would be appealing, but maybe thats just me...

Redhook doesn't make BAD beers, per se, but for me they rank in quality among breweries such as Pyramid or Widmer (a fellow Craft Brew Alliance member). To me that means while their beers aren't typically as blasé as many in the Big Beer market in America, theirs brews don't display the creativity, risks, or surprises of those truly at the forefront of legitimately independent craft beer. Peaches For Me IPA falls on the SWEET side of the IPA category that ends up having a sort of sticky, honey-like quality that I see as more appropriate for an American Pale vs. an IPA (especially here in the PNW where classic IPAs land on the bitter side of the spectrum). For a beer that pitches itself as being " loaded with juicy, peach and mango," I do get some peach stone flavor in here, but very little mango or other distinctive fruit characteristics. The malts almost dominate the hops, though there IS a lingering hop presence in here; this beer appropriately uses experimental hop HBC 431, which is distinctly not like the tropical or piney hop varietals so prominent today. I think this beer could be improved by removing some of the sugar, but I'm not a brewer so don't know what sort of compromises that might entail. If this were less sweet, it could give a chance for the more subtle fruit flavors of peach flesh, mango, and the interesting hop HBC 431 to shine through.

Smell is hop oil resins with a hint of peach.
Taste is hop oil resin bitterness with modest malt level and a touch of peach.
Mouthfeel is light to medium with good carbonation. The finish is medium bitter and lightly dry.
Overall a decent but ordinary IPA. Canned on date: Jan. 03 2018.
