Poured in a pint glass at the NH Redhook, the beer is an extremely dark brown/black, with some hazelnut highlights around the edges. No head to speak of, the beer carries a very thin ring of film. The nose is a great blend of coffee, chocolate, and roasty/toasty character. The beer's flavors are very well blended, also, with a roast coffee backbone carrying chocolate highlights and a slight smokey tone. The beer is crisp and surprisingly light in mouth, with the carbonation keeping the beer midbodied. The aftertaste is a heavy dose of smoke, with a hint of bitterness. Clean, smooth finish, with a slight linger to the flavors. Very tasty.

a...jet plack..gave way to a very robust head..I wish the flavor reflected this fact
t. not as strong as id like..not very oatmeal like..but still pretty good.

On nitro tap at the brewpub in Portsmouth. The pub had this on nitro and CO2. I thought the nitro version considerably superior to the CO2 version.
The beer pours a blackish brown color with an attractive, creamy head. The beer shows good head retention and lacing as well. The nose is appealing, and I get coffee grounds, licorise and light chocolate. Flavors on the palate replicate the nose pretty closely in this moderately sweet, easy drinking oatmeal stout. On the nitro it has a silky mouthfeel and is very light on its feet. The beer is very easy to drink, especially with the relatively low alcohol. While nothing extraoridinairy, this was still a pretty tasty, satisfying stout that I wouldn't hesitate to order again.
Had the gas version as well but IMHO the nitro version was considerably better. So didn't think there was any reason to review it as well.

The newest beer from Redhook made at showing at Full Moon Cask Night at Sebago.
Pours a dark brown color, minimal head with large bubbles per a stout in cask, no lacing.
Smell has a huge roasted malt aspect with hints of chocolate.
Taste has a great roasted malt presence, the sweetness stays on the lips and feels a bit sticky, carbonation is very low but cask-like, served a bit too chilled for the style though.
I'd be very interested in seeing how this turns out when it's served on regular draft or in bottle form.
