Poured on-tap and served in a goblet, the beer is a dark brown-to-black coloring with chestnut highlights and a thin, filmy, off-white head. Clingy, with lots of carbonation action as you drink each time. Nose of coffee and earth, with a terroir influence to it. Roasty and smoky, too. Flavors of coffee, roast, and peat, with a wave of chocolate that washes the end of the palate. Smoky charcoal highlight throughout, too. Smoked coffee aftertaste, with a light effervescence cleaning a dry, quick finish. Solid brew.
