Without getting to detailed on the subtle notes on the esters etc., (there is an excellent review by someone with sensory superpowers that pretty much nails everything down), so nothing left to say other than the initial gulp is not going to be what you might be hoping for (ie something a bit dry and fruity maybe refreshing), but rather red-colored Budweiser. It is well crafted but unfortunately tastes like something that isn’t.

Poured into a pint glass from a 12 oz. can. The Agavemente pours a fairly clear reddish orange in color with a thin cap of whitish foam. The color is mostly from the hibiscus addition vs. any malt influence.
Aroma of light bready malt and some hibiscus tea like notes, balanced by a bit of a sweet note and a faint tartness. Touch of pils malt with warming. Taste is light with lager notes yet lacking the pils malt character alluded to on the brewery website. Agave character isn't prominent but may yield some of the depth on the nose.
Feel is spritzy with some more hibiscus notes. Touch of fruitiness lingers yielding a slightly sweet finish. Overall an interesting yet different animal. A bit sneaky at 6.3%.
Note: 6.3%, canned on 04/18/18
