If there ever was a fruit that was destined to pair with a Juicy IPA, it would be the blackberry. Our organic blackberry puree has a juicy, tart and sweet characteristic that accentuates the fruity and citrusy notes of Mosaic and Citra hops. We infuse organic blue spirulina to give a deep rich color to the brew, and the malt profile ensures all the ingredients are balanced and delicious. Enjoy fresh!

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England Double / Imperial IPA
Glass: Pure Project 16-oz. brandy snifter glass
Price: $4.99
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Sept. 17, 2020
Consumed: Sept. 23, 2020
Misc.: Canned on Aug. 26, 2020; Batch #001
Picked up a can of this with a bunch of other stuff on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. Had one Protector Brewery beer before, giving Mocha Golden Coconut Stout a 3.78 on July 2, 2020. Back of the can read, “If there ever was a fruit that was destined to pair with a Juicy IPA, it would be the blackberry. Poured a dark purple, almost brown, semi-opaque color with 1-to-2 fingers of frothy-to-fizzy off-white head. Could see a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Excellent foamy layered lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled Mosaic, blueberry, blackberry, blackberry tart, purple Sweet Tart candy, floral and purple grape. Much of the same from the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Taste followed the nose, maybe not quite as good. In order got Mosaic, blackberry, blueberry, dry floral, perfume, blackberry tart, purple Sweet Tart candy and purple grape. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Dry finish. (Feel - 3.75)
This was very good overall. Glad I had a can. (Overall - 3.75)
