Pours a medium amber, light brown coloration with a small, fizzy head. Smells of tomato ketchup, caramel malt and a hint of black pepper. Taste is malt-forward, with a definite tomato ketchup, tabasco flavor supplemented by grassy hops and a spicy but mellow black pepper note that pleasantly lingers on the tongue long after the aftertaste. Once again, Freigeist kicks it up a notch: BAM! This is basically a Bloody Mary beer, which I'm sure is the inspiration behind it. This is not going to be for everyone, but it's so well done. A little gimmicky, maybe, but still really nice.
