a very simple and clean american pale here, nothing at all remarkable about it, but its fresh and light and refreshing, just being tapped in when we visited the brewery. its sort of like their ipa light, with a similarly basic pale two row base malt complexion and a low bitterness hop profile with just a little bit of citrus to make it pop at the end, but really nothing at all to set it apart, and in the context of their very good ipa, it almost seems under flavored to me, like it could handle an extra dry hopping or something, very modest beer by todays standards for the style. i like it being so light and bright and dry, but its sort of dumbed down too, and never really gets as hoppy as i want it to. a little haze on it, but its more of a chill haze, not an attempted starchy east coast thing at all. most concerning here, and really across all the beers here, is the lack of name. dont call your beer american pale ale if you ever want anyone to care anything about it, give it a personality, i dont know, i hate seeing the naming of beers passed on, this needs a name...
