Had this on tap last August at Bill's Tavern in Cannon Beach, OR. The colour was a cloudy peach with no head. The nose was nicely berry-like but was more reminiscent of fruit snacks than blackberry. On the palate, there was an interesting berry melange flavour but nothing distinctly blackberry. Some hops mingled in and there was a slight bitterness to the finish.

Pretty much your basic brewpub fruit beer - not that that's a bad thing.

A: Cloudy, dark orange-amber. Average head retention but limited lacing.
S: Fruity. Wheaty malt. Berry-like, but non-descript.
T: Natural fruit. Sweetish, but not sweet. Nice malt flavor, wheatish. Mild bitterness.
M: Light to medium bodied. Standard carbonation.
D: Nicely done. Seems more like a real beer with fruit added than a lot of beers that seem like fruit is the most important part of the flavor profile. Refreshing. Tasty.

I'm wondering if this blackberry and raspberry infused ale is perhaps built on the same core recipe as Bill's spruce ale but with interchangeable flavor enhancements. The two beers share a similar lime component and slack demeanor.

Beauty comes with white lather on a turbid, ochre body. Its obviously fruity aroma isn't overly sweet, but delivers a fruited pungency. The taste is driven by the blackberry / raspberry infusion, though it's not driven far. Even the color shows no evidence of berry fruits.

Not bad. But as with the spruce ale, it may work well enough as a summer's day beer, but it lacks pizzazz.

Served on-tap at Cannon Beach's Bill's brewpub, who make the stuff. It was served in a regular pint glass and way too cold.

No real head to speak of, the non-head sitting atop a nice hazy, dirty-peach color.

Aroma doesn't give off much of anything. (not enough head? too cold?). Slightly fruity, but more peach than blackberry. Very slight grain.

Flavor is mild grapefruit, and blackberry (I'm guessing a syrup) is minimal, with more citrus happening instead. Breadiness rides through quietly, with no real finish to note. The mouthfeel is crisp, with a soda-like nip, despite no visible bubbles in the body and no head.

An okay, interesting effort, but no gold medal winner.
