Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a dark rust to copper color with a sustaining finger’s worth of white foamy head. The aroma had some tobacco leaf, fresh mango pulp, clean caramel malt, light spruce, subtle citrus and ended with a little bit of earthy hops. The flavor lends a hand to the sweet side of the spectrum melding the previously mentioned aromas together quaintly. Some bitterness slides in nicely. Aftertaste had a nice smooth sweet velocity. The finish was malty but clean. The palate was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Good carbonation and a nice ABV to boot. Overall, a bit of an old school DIPA or maybe a West Coast DIPA that’s nicely done and cleaned up. I could take another stab at this.

Pours out into a darker translucent (almost clear) amber with strong caramel high notes over a hoppier aromatic base. Taste is complex: immediately a very strong caramel and sappy spruce-gum that melts away to a long-lingering dry hop finish. Two minutes later and various hop-notes of scotchy woods & spices are still revealing themselves. Despite all that strength and the 78 IBU's, it's pretty smooth, with lighter carbonation and a smooth bite, making this very complex 2xIPA inviting and accessible. A brew that makes you slow down as you try to figure it out.

Moderate pour yields a one inch fluffy white head over a slightly hazy medium golden body with nice lacing. Nose of tropical fruit, citrus, and slight pine. Taste follows smoothly with a nice, clean, bitter finish. Good mouthfeel and overall a great job from these guys from Quebec brewing and canning in South Burlington, VT.
