This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a glossy hazy orange/copper color with a half finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off stealthily. Mild concave lace slid with the sips.
The aroma started off with a huge honeydew sweetness and then tried to develop into a mature blend of it all. Still, a modest earthy hop spice bristles the edges of the nose.
The flavor leads again with the sweet honeydew and combines with the hop spice slightly. Mild earthy to melon aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Low carbonation, which I didn't mind. ABV felt fine. Mild finish of melon stickiness.
Overall, pretty damn nice New England styled IPA. I'd have again.

Pint can. Canned on 4/17/18 opened on 6/1/18

A very thick, opaque style liquid with a white-gold color and solud white foam cap. Lots of creamy foamy coverage left-over with long lacing.

The aroma is very unique, if not strange. Earthy herbs and spices pop out most, grandma's spice rack, mint leaves, peppery, spicey and fruity hop notes are pretty wild. A creamy, vanilla scented light golden malt....almost cream ale style is the otherside of the nose.

So, the first gulp has me thinking about the overall, smooth, juicy flavor and texture. Soft and sweet malty edge is very interesting, it's like a nice cream ale mixed with a unique ipa. The malt brings in a seriously smooth, silky and creamy edge. The hops provide a super round 'n juicy effect. Soft spices with cantalope, pineapple, and herbal herbs in the finish. Very unique. Juicy tropical fruit blend finished with earthy spices sums it up well.

Such a unique ipa, the single dose of Rakau hops makes for a very complex and unique expereince. The feel and light but smooth body enhances the enjoyability ten fold.
