A-Yellow with some chill haze and an abundant white head
S-Alcohol aroma with a pungent citrus and herbal kick. Subtle notes of lemon and orange
M-Over carbonated and harsh. Peppery mouthfeel with hop burn and unpleasant astringent body
T-Citrus forward with little malt balance. Sweetness is there and a puckering factor does not help the overall
O-Not very good. Over carbonated mess.

Pretty weak generic tasting NEIPA. Pass on this one. Very bland.

This delicious brew just arrived at my local beer shop in Fairfield CT. Brewed in South Burlington Vermont by Farnham Ale + Lager. Today is December 29, 2018 and this pint can’s brew date is stamped October 30, 2018.

The initial pour produced a great foamy head that overflowed my glass, and a beautiful, hazy, light amber-yellow color liquid filled my glass. Classic IPA citrus: satsuma orange, ripe grapefruit notes.

Drinks similarly to Connecticut’s Headway IPA by Counter Weight, but not quite as polished. Lacks the rich, tropical aromas and full bodied flavor of the Headway.

Hazy Camper has a nice dry finish that would pair well with your favorite personal pan pizza.

Worth trying ✌

As far as I can tell, this beer used to be called just IPA 72. The "Hazy Camper" name was recently added. It makes sense. This may be among the haziest beers I've ever had. The hop residue in the beer is significant. Pour out the last bit of the can after swishing it around it you will get that wonderful burn in your throat - full-on pepper. It's one thing I love about this beer.

The Vic's Secret hop takes some getting used to. It's a different flavor to me whenever I've had it. This beer reminds me of a few Trillium brews I've had that featured the Vic's Secret. In fact, if you gave me this blindfolded I would probably swear it was a Trillium IPA. It's one of the best damn canned IPAs I've yet been able to purchase at a local store in Southwestern CT.

It's smooth, perfectly balanced. The carbonation is just right. It's peppery at the finish. The Vic's Secret imparts a unique sweet-floral character to it. The Citra gives it a metallic backend. As New England IPA's go, I can't believe that this one isn't getting ratings all over BA in the high 4's.

So, IPA 72 with a new name... Definitely an improvement overall from the batch in May.

8/9/18 " It had to be Thursday". Opened on 8/24/18

IPA 72. Double Dry Hopped with Vic Secret, Citra & Galaxy hops.

This baby pours out looking like milkweed thistle, milky haze of straw and gold. Egg whites inside a wheat ale. A whipped-egg white style white fluffy foam top is ever present, full coverage.

Seriously earthy toned, freshly picked-style hops greet the nose with delight. Soft citrus, silky golden wheat, musky...sun dried herbals. Funky, grainy yeast and light malty thing is rather inspiring. Not exactly what you think of when you're expexting the aroma of a NE style ipa. No real tropical....fruity juice thing. White grapes, cream of corn and golden malty aromatics are most interesting.

The testure and mouthfeel is amazingly light but smooth...silky even!. Milky, silky light and juicy!

Earthy based hop and malt flavors have my mind reeling. Not sure what's happening here....
Golden wheat, herbs, lactose and gentle vanilla sweetness makes up the malty side of the flavor spectrum. The hops...have gentle tropical currents of starfruit and honey dew melon. Grapefruit and nectarines come later.Practiaclly zero bitterness in the hop, muted by an extra dose of sweetness. Mildly tropical fruit juice thing makes up the " New England" style thing effects, sort of.

Another strange New England style something from Farnham.

Can to English pint glass.
Dated 08/09/18.
The appearance was a thick opaque dark yellow color with a nice looking thick ring of foamy lace. It stuck so nicely that the lace around it pretty much stayed right on the glass.
The aroma had an elaborate meshing of sweet and bitter grassy hops throwing their cares into the wind of trying to have the normal enthusiastic New England hoppiness of the style. We're going to say this one has an awesome cleaned up view of earthiness while punching some onion/scallion and a scraping of honeydew/melon.
The flavor mixes the prior aromas wonderfully together and leads with the sweetness. Sly bitterness invades but in a good way. Moderate aftertaste of earthy sweet hops and a bright melon stickiness.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Low carbonation like a New England styled IPA helps keep a smooth rolling capability strolling along my tongue. ABV seemed about right by the brewer. Finish was quite earthy and slightly grassy with the onion/scallion thing going on.
Overall, it's as if Ben decided to take an English IPA and clean it up then brew it as a New England styled one. Hey, no soapiness, diacetyl or off flavors normally found in this English IPA, so I'd say this is one definitely to come back to.

never knew this place was here, a sister operation to the one up in canada, doing their own thing here though from what i gather. i liked the beers all pretty well. this is their take on a new england style ipa, milky but heady from the tap, loaded with starchy grain, pale peachy orange color, great foam retention, and a cool dry hoppy nose thats fresh and fruity, but not real different from what anyone else is doing in the style. orchard fruit to me as much as anything tropical or citrusy, pears and peaches and apricots come to mind from the hops, upheld well but the oatmealy cerealy base from the grain, which is the case with the flavor too, although i think i also taste some ale yeast, not sure what they use, but its not totally invisible like it usually is in this style, a nice wrinkle, not a problem. the hops are juicy and fresh, but the beer drinks heavy even without tons of oils or bitterness from the hops, its the malt that weighs and slows this down for me, and its a one and done sort of thing personally, although a lot of these are as far as i am concerned. nice dry hopping, cool mix of varietals in this, but a step below the best ones of these out there still...
