Can dated 09/12/18.
This was poured into a glass mug.
The appearance was a nice looking golden bronzed color with a fair transparency about it. Barely any lace after a small white foamy head appeared.
The aroma had a nice blend of earthy nuts, buttered toast, wood/bark and some grassiness.
The flavor leads with an acceptable level of sweet diacetyl. Given the date of this can, I believe the diacetyl to be intentional, especially with the fact it tasted like it smelled - "buttered toast. Nice aftertaste of diacetyl but in a smooth way meshing with the nuts and earthiness.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Diacetyl dryness occurred. Some earthy dryness was in the finish.
Overall, I'd to think Farnham was going for an 'authentic' true to style Oktoberfest, but also a part of me thinks just a tad of the diacetyl could be scaled back for me to truly want this again.
