Pours clear amber with a short-lived two inches of almond froth. After falling, the head holds a thick blanket. Patchy lace is left on a Spaten dimpled mug. This one seems to be a bit dark for style. Very occasional carbonation can be seen within.
The aroma is pleasantly malty, with sweet bread dough. Warmth brings out toasted caramel and light herbalness.
The flavor is equal parts mild bitterness and mild sweetness. Toasted malt gives way to a quick, clean finish. Warmth allows slight astringency to linger.
This one has a light, fizzy carbonation and alcohol as expected. The body is medium, with an oddly sharp yet smooth texture.
This is a solid Festbier, very easy to consume. The autumnal aroma/flavor is just right for a cool evening.
