Malty pinetree/air freshener/citrus/peach smell. So far so good. Sip. Piney west coast-leaning IPA with I think quite a bit of malt presence for what it is (no clue if they changed this since some previous reviews years ago which note "very little malt"). A little grapefruit and some leafy herb-ish dank notes. Has a bitter hoppy aftertaste, but not in a bad way. Too much mixture of sweetness and funky herbal notes that stick in your mouth to be really crisp or perfectly sessionable, but there's nothing offputting or offensive about it as far as IPAs go. Best when ice cold. Pretty good.

Poured into a 16 oz Nordic pint glass canned on 11/02/2020. Pours a cloudy orange with a solid finger sticky white head that leaves big streaks of lace, with nice retention. 4.25
Aroma is tangerine, pine, herbal earthiness that is the best way to describe it, and grapefruit rind. 3.75
Taste follows tangerine, pine, slightly herbal, and a little shot of grapefruit really balanced. 4
Mouthfeel is a solid medium, a tad sticky not really dry, fairly soft carbonation, and at 6.2% ABV really crushable. 4.25
Overall this for me is kind of a hybrid, not West Coast or East Coast hazy, but tropical with some bitterness. Nice IPA. 4

Clear, golden amber body; fine carbonation; dense, creamy white head. Excellent cracker aroma right off; very faint presence of pine resin. Outstanding taste of gently sweet malt base; very light caramel; well-balanced resin-like hop bitterness with a touch of spiciness. Medium body; velvety; semi-sweet throughout with a nice balancing bit of dryness on the palate.
This is a nicely made west coast styled IPA. It is balanced and flavorful, lacking a bit in the aroma; but hitting on all cylinders with the looks, taste and mouthfeel. An all around beautiful IPA...

From a 16 ounce can. It poured a deep honey color with a 1 inch head and had a very mild hoppy aroma. Tasted great and was very smooth. This is a very drinkable beer and will purchase again.

On tap at Rangeley Inn Tavern (I think it was this one). Lacked head, mediocre flavor to be honest. Not likely to re-order, given alternatives.

Pint can - dated 2/26/19 - poured into a tulip at 42F.
Pours an absolutely gorgeous, chill-hazy tarnished copper hue, with a finger of off-white head. Very West Coast caramel color, but just a little hint of New England haze. Substantial lacing is left clinging to the glass.
Nose: Definitely West Coast in nature. Creamy meyer lemon rind, pine oils, lavendar, honey, tropical stone fruits (mango), some guava, pineapple, and papaya. The hops are providing elements of a New England IPA as well, all tucked into a subtle bed of caramel malt.
Palate: Immediately, it's made clear that this isn't going to be an explosion of flavor. Almost a watery-ness at first. Then, some classic old school hop notes show up - Cascade, Centennial, Citra, and well as some musty, earthy peach and mango notes that I can spot a mile away as being from Galaxy hops. There's a classic caramel+pale malt blend that's forming the foundation, and it's a malt base that has worked for years. A little more would be nice, to give a little more malt flavor and sweetness, but it still works, and makes for a very drinkable beer. Citrus returns, this time as lemon, orange, and grapefruit, and brings some pine oil notes back, which lead thr way into a dry, ckean finish, with absolutely no bitterness. They definitely played it safe with the bitterness here.
Mouthfeel/Body: I feel like the body also suffers a little bit, due to lack of malt. It's a little thin, a little watery, even, and it doesn't provide a whole lot of satisfaction. It has the same mouthfeel as 95% of the session IPAs we see on the market today. Middle-of-the-road effervescence, leaning towards the low scale.
Overall: This beer is good, don't get me wrong. It's enjoyable, and it's good. But it could have been great, with just a little more "oomph". It's lacking in flavor and sweetness, it's lacking in body, it's lacking in intensity. It's a good, unique IPA just turned way down. Session IPA flavor, in a 6.2% ABV package. More malt, and a pinch more hops, and this would really improve. The flavor is great, and a really nice mesh of East and West Coast style, but there just isn't enough of it.
Perhaps a good one (or two) on a hot day when you just need a beer.
