Square Wheels is our love letter to our favourite hops - Citra, Mosaic and Idaho 7. We first started making this beer in 2017 and have spent more time refining and perfecting this IPA than any other beer we make. The grain is meant to provide a soft base for the hops to shine without finishing sweet. The hops combine to express ripe pineapple, juicy tangerine and fresh lime flavour and aromas. It's a bright and refreshing IPA that's remarkably drinkable.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. Gifted by Travis from the brewery. Canned February 13/25. My 5th beer from the Whitby, Ontario brewery, and for 2025. Radically recommended, without reservation, by Sundae the cat...

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Aug 21 2025 and served barely chilled.
Pours a hazy pale yellow colour, producing more than an inch of soapy, foamy white head that lasts for roughly five minutes. By that point, it has been worn down to a thin cap encircled by a creamy collar; meanwhile, an even coat of lace about half an inch thick clings tenaciously to the glass. Nice aromatics, ranging from pink grapefruit & papaya to apricot, honeydew melon, lychee and bubblegum. We're off to a strong start.
That momentum carries into this brew's fruity, juicy flavour profile. Pineapple, grapefruit and orange get things started, with notes of apricot, melon and lime developing by mid-sip; the malt backbone is distinctively wheaty, adding some bready notes to the mix. Pithier on the back end, finishing with some piney, herbal hops and tea leafy bitterness; concludes with a citrusy, fruity aftertaste that lingers for a moment or two. Medium-full in body, with moderate carbonation that gently brushes across the surface of the palate, contributing to this brew's smooth, soft, juicy mouthfeel. This is a very crushable NEIPA that I could likely drink one after another.
Final Grade: 4.04, an A-. Of the half-dozen or so Town Brewery beers that I've sampled over the years, I think Square Wheels might be my favourite. This beer has apparently seen significant changes since its inaugural batch, and its quality is reflective of that fact - a lot of effort has been put into perfecting this recipe, and it damn well shows. This is a juicy, delicious hazy IPA that I urge other BAs to seek out and try for themselves, assuming they can find some fresh stock.

I bought a can today at the LCBO in Ontario 473ml at 6.2%.
Poured into glass with a 2 finger head
Leaving a lace as you drink it.
Tropical fruit flavors and citrus with a medium bitterness level.
Tasty and smooth.
Overall a very good IPA.
Would definitely buy it again.
Cheers

473 ml can served cold into a pint glass. Listed at 6.2% ABV. LCBO purchase for around $3.75 CDN. Canned February 4, 2021.
Appearance - Hazy, pale golden straw colored beer. A finger of dense and frothy white head on top. Some good staying power.
Smell - Big nose with grapefruit, pine needles, orange and possibly melon. The grapefruit and especially pine are most prominent.
Taste - Very nice balance of bitter and sweet. Lots of pine resin, suggestions of orange with some lemon and melon hanging around the background. Starts piney moves to sweet and then finishes with bitter pine.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, modest carbonation and semi dry finish.
Overall - Maybe this was a super fresh can, but this was quite a delicious IPA. I don't know if it's to style, appearance wise it is and the fruity juiciness mid sip is but the piney flavors are more of a traditional west coast style, but it was a good one. Will consider picking a bunch more up if fresh.

LCBO purchase. Was a bit sour and murky. Maybe oxidized? Will try again.

Pours a hazy straw/gold. Thick pillowy head with good retention and light lacing.
Broad fruity hop nose. Mango, pineapple.
Taste follows nose. Tropical fruit. Very slightly dank. A sweeter than expected finish.
Full mouth. Creamy.
This is a decent ‘hazy’ IPA. Too sweet for my expectations, but otherwise enjoyable.

A hoppy wheat beer, hits the style. Enjoyed on tap at the source. Their second best beer from initial beers at this new place. Active carbonation. Much hoppy.
