473 mL can, day 11 of the 2022 Toronto Brewing beer advent calendar; dated Nov 10 2022 and served barely chilled.
Pours black as night, crowned with nearly two inches of puffy, foamy, light beige-coloured head; within five minutes, it has seeped down to a creamy, eighth-inch cap and collar. Decent lace deposition, too - it's a fine-looking stout, with an enticing, understated aroma to boot. Lots of cocoa, accompanied by hints of roasted malt, toffee, molasses and dark chocolate; suggestions of figgy dark fruit.
A rich-tasting stout featuring an array of chocolatey flavours - I'm getting cacao nibs immediately, with dark chocolate dominating the back end. Mixed within are notes of fig, raisin, molasses and toffee, with roasted grains, tobacco and coffee at the finish; the cacao lasts on, fading into a semi-dry aftertaste. Medium in body, with low carbonation that weakly brushes across the tongue; feels smooth and fulfilling, with good drinkability for a chocolate-heavy, moderately strong stout.
Final Grade: 3.92, a B+. First and foremost, I must highly recommend Second Breakfast to anyone who has ever been hungry after their first breakfast - but also to all of those BAs who have enjoyed a stout with cacao nibs and/or dark chocolate in the past. Very cocoa-heavy, so if you like that sort of thing, this will be right up your alley - if I spotted this at the LCBO, I'd buy it again.

Some chocolate and pastry sweet. On draft at the source. It's a competent stout. Sugar water mouthfeel. Tap at the source.some chocolate and bitterness.
