A: slight haze; deep gold in color; 2+ finger off white head that receded to a thick cap; nice lacing;
S: virtually no aroma; a hint of floral;
T: floral to the middle, then kind of a soapy lemon through the finish; mild to moderate bitterness at the end;
M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;
O: the almost complete lack of aroma was strange; flavor was painless, but this is not something I would choose again;

Pours a hazy golden burnt orange with a big, fluffy white head; great retention results in a smattering of lacing hanging around to wall the glass with good longevity.
Aromas dominant with tropical citrus notes; dank pineapple, guava, and papaya stand out; plenty of flaky malt verging towards funky wheat supporting the backbone of the bouquet; soft and subtle, with the citrus bringing the occasional juicy burst.
Taste continues to show guava, pineapple, and plenty of tropical citrus in a primary role, with wheaty malt and faint lemon peel sitting comfortably in the background of the profile; herbal bitterness in flux nicely with juicy citrus on the finish.
Mouthfeel presents a smooth medium body with an easygoing hoppy prickle and an active but unobtrusive carbonation; slightly creamy, but ultimately dry and crisp through the finish. Refreshing and juicy in spite of the weightier earthy wheat tendencies lingering around the profile.
A solid first offering from Boondoggle; this is refreshing, juicy, earthy, and nicely balanced all at once. Although it doesn’t exceedingly excel with any of these, what results is a subtle, easy-drinking hazy IPA with character; while I normally look away from IPAs with wheatier tendencies, this one is decent overall and nothing to turn down.

A: why is this IPA so brown? Strange for a CT IPA to be this old school English brown.
S: the best part of this beer. Red fruit, ripe mango, very potent aroma.
T: falls flat compared to the nose, kind of a bitter finish without all of the delicious hop aromas that usually accompany a bitter finish. The hops are there, they just taste...well...a bit dead.
O: it smells like a NEIPA but that’s about it. The taste and finish are just ok, pretty run of the mill shelf beer. Boondoggles weakest offering I have tasted, I rather enjoyed Departure, and less so for gateway. This beer is just too brown for me, I’m going to pass in the future.

An overall great IPA. Great flavor with that hoppy goodness you seek in an IPA. I have enjoyed all of Boondoggle's Beers and continue to go back for more. This is a great beer to have any night of the week or pair with your favorite meal!
