Can. Dark pour, one finger head. Rich aroma of cocoa, cherry and coffee. Smells delicious. Roasted malts, cocoa, some milkyness and mild dark fruit. Pretty nice.

there just arent enough baltic porters out there anymore, i almost always get one when i see it at a brewery, i dont want this fine style to go extinct. this is a pretty solid example of it too, and overall i thought all the classic styles in here were done expertly. i like how dark this is, near black in the glass, mellow looking, deep, regal even. its got a light smoke and intense roast to the nose, a level more intense and dark than a lot of porters now, definitely on the robust side of the spectrum. at first the nose isnt all that dynamic beyond the obvious, but as it warms i start picking up some raisin, walnut, and licorice, maybe an english breadiness too, very well built. i almost feel this beer before i taste it, heavy bodied but not dense if that makes sense, like there is weight to it on the palate but not in the belly, its the perfect texture for something like this, relaxed carbonation and just a bit of residual sweetness to balance the deep roast. intense wintery malt flavors here, less alcohol than it seems like it should have too, and apparently very carefully crafted. i love the balance here, the almost crispness of the finish, the yeast is just right for what this is. all the beer for the most part was impressively good in here, and this was among the highlights!
