it sounds like they have a rotating milkshake ipa series under this name, and it was the strawberry edition when we were in. aside from only the spiced porter, this was the best beer we had in here, just an incredible glass of ipa, thoughtfully constructed and smart with all the additives. i didnt immediately know it was fruited and was so taken aback by the hop flavor of this that i had to return to the bar and ask if it was fruited because i was so unfamiliar with the complexion and needed to know what hops these were if it wasnt accentuated by fruit, thats how i learned there were strawberries in it. its hazy and frothy and smells fresh as can be, a light tropical pineapple thing with the strawberry, maybe mosaic in front, i would love to know. the berries arent sweet at all, which is why it was less obvious to me at first. not jammy, ripe and real, summery even, but with some hop bitterness on the back end to make it still drink like ipa. if there is lactose or vanilla in here, its just subtle, not enough to turn me off or slow me down at all, we all loved this one. in the finish there is lemongrass and dried herbs, mango juice and the berries, subtle sweetness, oily west coasty feel, and some nice richness from the grain, but dry enough. creamy and flavorful and really one of a kind. they have something special here, and even if the series must continue to rotate, they should keep this one in the mix. shockingly different and good!

Supposedly modeled after a strawberry shortcake, this has Palisade, Citra, Simcoe, Mosaic and Loral hops, along with strawberry, vanilla, lactose and oats. Mostly Citra on the nose, with the additives coming through hard on the palate.
