one of the more crushable beers they had on in here, a lighter alcohol one among some interesting stronger ales, and a very classically fashioned german beer. i actually expected to find a lot more of this kind of thing in here, but it was one of the few classic styles they had on while we were in, interestingly enough. this is a pretty textbook example of the style, with all the necessary elements and all of the right proportions. it has a nice sweetness from the malts, the body from the wheat supporting notes of raisin, brown sugar, and overripe banana. the yeast is estery and classic, but well enough restrained to not make the beer one dimensional, light clove and pepper notes to it, even a pear hit to me, fruity and light, makes the beer seem lighter than it is somehow. it also has great carbonation, which i love in this style, its really zippy and alive from the tap, and my only complaint is that i didnt get a full liter of it! a really well crafted take on the style, nothing unique about it, but it could pass as having been made by one of the legendary german producers. its that spot on!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
