this is truly about as good as it gets in the fruited gose style, incredibly fruit forward, but also full bodied for its strength, dry, and drinkable, a really fine specimen. the color is insane on this, past pink but short of purple, with some haze and some fluffy white head atop it, looks right on for the style, and i love it having some body and character form the wheat, not enough of these do anymore. there are a few things about this that make it awesome, the sourness being the first among them, its mild but clean, tart but not acidic in a way that slows drinkability, and i feel like its real playful with the fruit, a perfect match, nothing about this makes me want to only have one. the salt is also right on, seems so perfectly suited to the blackberry, adding minerals in the finish, body throughout, and a decided dryness to finish, surprising for a beer so profoundly fruity earlier on. wheaty and fresh, spunky and new, fruity but not jammy, good complexity in a simple beer too. these guys covered all the bases, and this was among their best. good fun, i love drinking beer like this, a surprise, an underground hero, the best of their sours!
