a gose with blackberry, fruity but dry, pretty simple really, not a lot of salt or any real lactic character emerging through the fruit, more of a generic acidity, not even all that clean and pretty darn puckery, but a tasty first beer of the day sort of thing and nice with a tray of oysters at their tacoma brewery. orange pinkish to rose red in color, short head from the can, bright but not fully clear, bubbles rising up through it. it smells and tastes like fruit first, honest enough blackberry, slightly candied, but only a little sweet to the taste. there is an obvious lemon thing to the sour profile, but also a slight sweatiness that lingers past the swallow, i wish it were cleaner, and that is a knock against it, really could use a little refinement there. that said, i like the assertive sourness here, the low alcohol, and the fairly basic nature of the brew overall. light brine character, minerals, and decent fizziness for it looking sort of flat. overall a rather plain type of fruited sour here, but it serves its purpose. for me though, it was the least impressive of the three beers we had in here. a cleaner finish and more tidy lactic souring would improve this significantly i reckon...
