I asked the salesperson in this very well-stocked liquor/craft beer store if they stocked Hobgoblin. He recommended this. I should have picked up the other local ESB they carried (Surfman's Check by Devil's Purse).
The 16 oz. can lists ingredients: Marris Otter, Victory, C 20, C 60, E.K. Goldings, Fuggles, house ale yeast. That sounded right to me...
The resulting product does not seem close to style for me. I am missing the crystal malt and the earthy hops. The taste is bland, particularly for a 6.5% ABV. This is a pretty highly-carbonated beer. Nothing offensive here, but definitely not was I was looking for. I am not going to finish the rest of this 16 oz. can.
It's nice to see another Massachusetts brewery doing a traditional English style (as opposed to their latest NEIPA), but this misses the mark IMO.
