This was interesting. Smoothly rounded, almost pillowy. Hazy and smooth.
I was surprised to see this listed as an IPL as it’s definitely more expressive than I would expect.

CAN: 16 fl oz overpriced. Pull-tab. The name of the beer is basically indistinguishable on the label; they use this awful bubble font that can't be read; I had to look up the brewery's just to figure out what they were calling this. Call it the Three Floyds school of label art.

"Hazy IPL" per their website.

APPEARANCE: Head is white, 2cm in height, and lasts about 3 minutes. Not horribly robust. Could be creamier, fuller, softer, and more enticing.

Body is a turbid dull orange. Appears unfiltered.

Looks nice enough for an IPL.

AROMA: Pulpy. Orange juice. Lime. Mango skin.

Pungently fruity with tropical leanings.

Aromatic intensity is high for an IPL. I don't detect any yeasty notes, alcohol, or off-notes.

TASTE: Matches the aroma, which doesn't make for a great IPL. It's a bit too pulpy to feel balanced, but it's pleasant enough with a nicely assertive hop profile given it's a lager.

TEXTURE: Smooth, pulpy, chewy, uneven, wet, refreshing, and approachable.

OVERALL: Drinkable fare for an IPL, but it lacks the clean drinking character you'd want in the style; I can't see any reason not to filter this except to chase the turbid trend. I can't say it's not a worthwhile beer, but at this price and in this cash-grab 16 oz 4 pack packaging format, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Price never affects my ratings, but this really only be worth regular purchases at $13/6er or less.
