Well, I bought three different Cheat Days from this brewery (singles, thankfully) on a whim one day. The base Cheat was...stunningly mediocre. Since I already had this one I cracked it open hoping my beloved maple would improve the experience.
It didn't. This is cheap malt & Aunt Jemima, watered down. Terrible beer.

Served from the can in a Mickey Finn's shaker pint glass.
Every day is a cheat day. Wait... Anyway, this stuff pours a straight obsidian topped by a finger of tan foam. The nose is a blast of maple syrup, backed up by some chocolate syrup, some mild coffee, and some vague roasted malt elements in the background. The taste continues this trend, the focus being squarely on the maple and its interplay with the coffee and chocolate. The body is a hefty medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fluid feel. Overall, a sweet tooth indulgence, indeed, not something to be trifled with (especially if you're not keen on the flavor of maple syrup).

Taste: Intense, sweet maple, coffee beans, deep roasted chocolate, malty vanilla, with a slight boozy finish. Same with the robust nose. Black/brown hue, mostly opaque, smaller head, with sticky lace. Medium/full body. Dessert ale.

Lil Beaver has been experimenting with maple, and this elevates their already excellent Cheat Day. I mean, why wouldn't you add maple to a Brownie Batter and Coffee Imperial Stout? Duh. Seriously, I don't get much brownie batter, but the coffee and maple are paired well together. Not as sweet as you might think, but still a real treat.
