Thanks to basaywhat for this 16 oz. can. New brewery for me, with can art that looks like it was designed by a nine year old. And not a bright one.
The pour is dark & impenetrable, the nose an interesting mélange of cinnamon, maple, pine bark, & sweet malts. No roast detected by the spectrophotometer.
Cinnamon Maple Cheat Day is a great name for a beer & an accurate one. Booming cinnamon, which has the potential to wreck any beer, is reined in & offset by an equally impressive amount of sweet, sweet maple. There’s a woody character in the mid-palate that I’m likely imagining with a mildly bitter finish (the missing coffee?). Rich & sweet. Half a can will do me fine.
A beer with a name that could lead to Nirvana or the depths of messy Hell arrives somewhere in between. More coffee could have cut the sweetness & bumped this up, but still a good, solid beer.

Aroma is dry cinnamon, dark malts and a hint of spices. The flavor is cinnamon, dark malts, fruit/mild dark fruit and a lingering sweet/slightly acidic finish.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
