This Double IPA was brewed with copious amounts of Mosaic and Apollo hops. It glows a bright hazy yellow and tastes of sweet, ripe juice. Thick and hazy, with notes of marijuana, Hydro is a dank hop bomb we could get used to.

Draft at the brewery. Looks good, smells good. Feel: smooth and tingly: good. Taste: the sip is a satisfying citrus rind with a hint of creamy vanilla. The long tail afterwards is especially rewarding, echoes of earlier bitterness intertwining with a modest butterscotch.

Canned on 1/29/21; consumed on 2/13/21

Pours a glossy burnt gold with dirty orange hues and capped with multiple fingers of airy, soapy, eggshell-white foam; excellent retention sees the head creep down the glass, eventually resting to a rocky finger of cap, a slight, frothy collar, and myriad thin lacing tightly walling the sides of the glass.

Aroma opens with tropical fruity soon taking a turn towards the earthy; tangerine, overripe guava, and mango peel are established upfront as musty pineapple meet a grapefruit tang over the middle; notes of tropical cream on the back end phase into firmly established marijuana leaf in the backdrop of the close.

Taste balances overripe guava and ruby red grapefruit zest upfront as grassiness evolves with marijuana interwoven across the mid-palate; mango and touches of tropical creaminess laden in pineapple on the back end precede a finish of grassy tones and earthy marijuana leaf lingering.

Mouthfeel offers a medium-light body and a prickly, moderate carbonation, developing a fairly slick texture with an underlying grit over the mid-palate and peaking with a resinous tingle into the back end; a juicy, plush, minimally bitter, and overall effortless finish is the lingering result.

Fruit-forward with a subtly dank edge, details shine through in spots throughout this NEIPA, highlighting a distinct, well-rounded profile that leaves this a particularly crushable example of the style.

A: Pours a hazy yellow-orange color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a nice cap that leaves good lacing

S: Lots of dank weed and citrus up front along with light floral and herbal undertones. Weed and grapefruit stand out overall

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the weed and citrus and then picks up some lighter floral notes. Lightly bitter. Some crackery malt in there as well. Finishes with lingering citrus and floral notes

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. On the softer side

O: A very good mosaic-based DIPA (also features apollo) that is super drinkable at a touch under 8%. Definitely worth checking out

16oz undated can.

Pours cloudy gold with an inch of white fluff. Nice retention and lacing. Cracked garlic, green onions, and weed in the nose. Medium bodied with a creamy, tacky mouthfeel. Candied resin and citrus on the palate with zero malt and a minimal bitterness. Dank and garlicky. Finishes with lingering green onions and weed.

Full on Mosaic showcase.

From a 16oz can, undated, purchased at the brewery 06/27/19. Served in a cervoise.

Pours an only moderately hazy pale orange-gold with two fingers of lathery foam. Retention is fairly good, leaving a creamy cap and scattered gobs of lacing.

An intense nose of sweet and tart, juicy citrus - grapefruit and bitter orange.

Taste is precisely in line with the nose but less sweet than expected. Grapefruit bomb! but also bitter orange rind and biscuit. Juicy, somewhat weedy and dank, but with the bitterness knob cranked fairly far over to the right.

Feel is bright and juicy, medium bodied with ample carbonation and a very, very slight boozy warmth in the gullet.

Overall, a very good but not exceptional DIPA. Mosaic would absolutely not have been my first guess for the hop - where did all that grapefruity bitterness come from?

Poured from a 16 oz can into a tulip glass.

Pours a hazy yellow-gold color with a finger of eggshell white head. The head leaves a crown of sticky, cobweb lacing as it settles into a thin sheet.

The aroma is very dank and "weedy" right off the bat. There are underlying notes of grapefruit, tangerines, and overripe mango, as well as some pine and grainy malts on the back end. Smells a lot like Substance.

The taste is a bit sweeter than the nose. Lots of tangerines and apricot notes up front, followed by some grapefruit and mango. Then comes the earthy, dank, weedy and piney finish. Has a subtle but present cereal malt backbone.

The feel is medium bodied with soft carbonation. Creamy and pillowy soft with a relatively dry finish.

Overall, a great DIPA that honestly feels like a double version of BBB Substance. I guess it's that water in Portland. It has that dank, weedy character that's absolutely present but hard to describe. Very drinkable and full of pure, hoppy goodness. Great beer.

Poured into a 16 oz Nordic pint glass not sure when it was canned. Pours a hazy orange yellow with a solid finger plus sticky white head that leaves big thick rings of lace as it settles into a thick layer of foam.

Smell is tangerine, pineapple, apricot, and grapefruit rind.

Taste follows tropical all the way with some grapefruit bitterness, pretty balanced and very tasty.

Mouthfeel is pretty big, plenty of life and fairly soft, a tad sticky, and extremely approachable at 7.8% ABV.

Overall I got this in trade and had beverage heard of this brewery, but will have my open for from them. This is a great beer.

A- Slightly hazy yellow pour from the tallboy into a becher. A tall, thick white head forms with a creamy consistency and has fairly good retention. A nice layer remains at all times and a wide ring leaves webs of lace.

S- Juicy hops burst out of the glass with tropical, dank herbal and citrus absolutely exploding out of the glass with a hint of fruity sweetness. Mango, apricot, peach, papaya, weed, floral hops, tangerine, grapefruit and bubble gum. All about the hops.

T- As the aroma suggested this one is a big juice bomb with the stone fruits and the tropical fruits really shining with dank herbs in the underbelly. Apricots, peach, mango, papaya, guava, dank weed, mandirin, tangerine, orange, grapefruit, pine and floral hops. A bit sweet but it obviously goes with the tropical fruits quite well.

MF- Creamy and silky body that has a bit of a chew to it and this texture suits the soft fruit flavors rather well. A high level of carbonation and it ends rather bitter.

Juicy tropical fruits, dank herbs and stone fruits with some floral and citrus fruits. Very smooth, a nice mouthfeel and tons of clean flavor. Nice, Goodfire keep it up.

Cloudy bright yellow gold color with white head spotty lacing. Nose is dense with sweet orange and grapefruit Taste counteracts the sweet with a moderate bitterness. Finishes mellow. Soft feel with a little seltzer. Very good dipa.
