On tap at brewery:
My initial impression was better than it ended at. I thought initially that the hop bitterness gained the edge before mid-taste. Upon analyzing, this impression didn’t hold up.
An amber-ish haze greets my eyes, with a nice tight head that lasts well and actually produces some lace.
Nose is grain, peach pit, cast off tropical fruit skins - not so bad impressions nowadays, honestly. Just not as bitter pith/pine as a WCIPA should be.
Medium body buoyed by a nice, moderately light carbonation. Malt and citrus juiciness with an uncareful hand adding a bit of pith to the mix. Little too much grain pierces the grapefruit/pith, though.
An ok IPA per today’s standards, but billing it as WC is nearing a fail. I almost wonder if they accidentally switched kegs, because I watched them pour this from the right tap, though it seemed more like their other IPA offering (based on samples I had first).
