Thanks, Chad!
Was grateful for pulling in this, along with 16 others, from Chad and Bill on a recent work trip to Reno, Nev. Had tried Shoe Tree before, giving Shoehorn Double I.P.A. a 4.00 on Untappd after the 2018 Firestone Invitational and reviewing OI!PA a 3.46 on Nov. 6, 2018 on Beer Advocate. Can description read, “Pine and citrus hops make this one smooth and clean triple IPA.”
Poured a gold-to-amber mostly-clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy white head. Lots of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Perfect foamy spiderweb lacing. Perfect retention. Just an awesome looking beer. (Overall - 5.00)
Smelled peach, apricot, vanilla, Mandarina Bavaria, pear, mango, guava, mandarin orange, Motueka, caramel and stone fruit. Much of the same from the can with mango, guava, peach and Mandarina Bavaria coming through. (Smell - 4.00)
For hops kept getting Motueka, Mandarina Bavaria and maybe Amarillo. Also peach, vanilla, caramel, guava, mango, orange, stone fruit, floral and peach blossom. So smooth for 11.2 pct. ABV. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.75)
This was lovely. May have underrated it a tad. So smooth for 11.2 pct. Would be interested if I was close on the hops I mentioned. (Overall - 4.25)
