Well, it's a lager. Nothing special, but lagers are usually not. I found it refreshing and light which is pretty much all I ask of this style. 10x better than the macro brews.

473ml can - the newest arrival from Calgary's burgeoning craft brewing scene. As for the label imagery, are there typically cobras found in rail yards around these parts?

This beer pours a slightly hazy, yet bright medium golden yellow colour, with two fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and somewhat creamy eggshell white head, which leaves some hovering fog bank pattern lace around the glass as it quickly abates.

It smells of gritty and grainy cereal malt, lager yeast, dried apples, and some plain earthy, weedy, and musky floral green hop bitters. The taste is bready and doughy pale malt, applesauce, a bit of estery yeastiness, faint oily citrus notes, and a still understated leafy, floral, and dried hay-like hoppiness.

The carbonation is fairly tame in its lackadaisical-seeming frothiness, the body a solid middleweight, and generally smooth, with nothing in particular getting in the way of a mild evolving creaminess to boot. It finishes off-dry, the cereal graininess holding down the lingering fort, as it were.

Overall, this comes across as a well-made, if simple version of the style, with no flaws, and very straight-forward in its quaffability. A tad crisp, and certainly refreshing, worth checking out if this is your kind of thing.
