On tap at PIVO; served in a taster glass. Dark caramel color, with an off-white head. "Strong" is the operative word here, as the alcohol is quite prominent. Malt forward, with notes of caramel, dark bread, and dried fruit (fig, raisin). There is some sweetness and barrel character, neither of which is overpowering. Mouthfeel is on the heavier side, with a sticky and bitter finish. An excellent beer overall, best when savored slowly.

Can tell it's high abv right away. No subtle at all. It's ok beer but the strong alcohol taste doesn't do it for me. Quite bitter like an IPA. Not my cup of tea.
