My first review from Shaidzon! Another local brewery in RI that’s part of my journey to visit every brewery in the state. I stopped here a few weeks back and grabbed some cans to go. The apricot is honestly what sold me on this one, as I prefer funkier Saisons, but I think the fruit will cut through nicely. Let’s find out
Pours a cloudy deep gold with 2 fingers of creamy off white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing
Ok, there’s a bit more of a funky punch to the nose which I appreciate. I’m picking up on aromas of jammy apricot, rustic wheat bread, pear skin, white pepper, lemon zest, and floral hops
While it’s not funky at all in taste, it is still quite enjoyable. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting pear skin, bready malt, jammy apricot, orange marmalade, white pepper, and light toffee. The swallow brings notes of wheat bread, white pepper, gummy apricot, orange zest, honey, and floral hops
A light medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a slick yet refreshing beer. Finishes mostly dry and zesty yet sweet
This one is really solid for what it is. More earthy than funky but still
