$3.99 for a 1 pint can from Kap n Keg, but if you pour it into a glass FROM A CAN at their location, it will cost you $7.00 (per their website). The economics of this decision and the brewery trend of doing this is stupid IMO. Per the website "This Michigan Sourced farmhouse ale was brewed with Great Lakes Malting's Pale, Munich, Vienna and Rye malts, MILocal Hop's Triumph and Juniper Boughs from Moon Mountain Farm/Myconaut, making this a malty, toasty, fruity ale with undertones of spicy rye and woody Juniper. Expect no funk and low acidity."
6.8% ABV, 38 IBU.

Pours out to a sparkingly clear dark golden, forming a tall mousse like off white head with very good retention and lacing owing to it's brisk carbonation, at least 3 carbs I'm guessing. Nose of a Belgian Triple with an even mix of phenolics and bananas.Reminds me of Unibroues yeast expression. Cleanly fermented. Unlike other reviews here, I don't smell any juniper at all. I'm a brewer. I don't taste rye, and blinded, I highly doubt anyone would be able to pick out rye or juniper. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, finishing dry. Taste of spicy phenols and bananas. No malt character as it's overshadowed by the yeasts flavors. Bitterness is medium firm. No juniper or hop aroma or flavor.

If you are expecting the taste of rye and juniper, you will be disappointed. This tastes exactly like a Belgian triple. A very average beer. I can drink much better beer for $4/can.

Pours a golden copper color with a clear transparency. Head is two fingers of white foam with good foam rings left behind. Aroma leads with juniper, and is quickly followed by a swirl of bread, rye, and pumpernickel breads. Grassy hops add a little zest, with minor cellar stone adding some base. Flavor profile is lead again by juniper. Rye comes along, which dries out the initial juniper notes, allowing bready malts, straw, and grassy and herbal hops to be shown below. It's malt centric. Mouth feel is fuzzy and semi-crisp in texture with a medium-thin consistency. Overall, pretty darn solid throughout with a nice pop of juniper above bready rye.

Served in a 15.5oz Spiegelau tulip from a 16oz can. Reviewed from notes.

Michigan sourced farmhouse ale with juniper.

A touch cloudy, chill haze, with a malty straw auburn color. The nose comes across as very expressive. Ester forward, with lots of juniper and rye in the sip. Thick, and heavier than I would expect. Opens as it warms. It’s an interesting one.

Pours a gold color with a foamy white head that lasts quite a while. Aroma of grasses and floral notes. Taste is tart with a nice alcohol warmth at the finish. Crisp and dry.

16oz undated can poured into becher glass at fridge temp 6.7% ABV per label. The beer pours hefe-hazy in light orange amber color. The head is off white and recedes to a thin ring single layer of bubbles. Minimal lacing. The aroma is mild with rye malt, juniper and yeasty notes of clove & banana. The taste is semisweet malt with big juniper notes and residual rye, banana, clove, hay, and musty barn. Mild bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation and a somewhat dry finish. Overall, unique. Glad to have finally got a chance to review one in this style.

Pours straw gold with a three finger, bubbly, white head. Smell is sweet malt, berries, pine, and earth. Taste follows suit, exactly. Feel is soft and velvety but crisp going down. Another good one from B&B. Would buy again.
