Didn’t know this was a dark beer at purchase so the dark brown, oily liquid that emerged was quite a surprise. A one finger oatmeal head rises and quickly reduces to a ring, spotty lacing chases the beer down the glass. Nose is a tart grapefruit rind, some coffee grounds, baked rye bread, and bakers chocolate. Taste follows suit with a pithy citrus tart taking center stage and subtle bitter coffee following. Feel is very smooth and easily drinkable for 7.5%. Overall, I actually love this beer. Cheers all.
