They call this a "dark Saison." It's a tangy and spritzy brew, very dark in the chalice, with a brief bit of foam. Aroma is modest with a little dark fruit, some plum and prune in the nose. Malty but not very sweet.
Very cereal tasting, the Cream of Wheat flavor. Some vegetable notes, even a faint sourish tang of burnt malt. The Belgian yeasty effect gives it a dry finish. An interesting gulpable brew and a change from the usual Saisons. From the 32 oz growler filled at the brewery in Oceanside.
