Burnt amber to acorn brown with a tall, fluffy khaki head that retains thick and leaves behind archway lacing. It was redder and even more beautiful in 2024.
More aggressive than I imagined it would be, it's fairly piney and woody with a touch of lightly toasted brown malt. The hops are even a little dank and resinous, but also a little herbal. Caramel malts quickly recede to those resinously dank and spicy pine hops that even have a musty old school cattiness before then gently dropping back into softly baked dark bread and nuttiness.
The medium-light body is softly frothy before finishing chewy dry.
This would probably be a more comfortingly cozy brew if I was more a hop hound, but having it again in 2024 I do find it pretty cozy, like a hoppy yet beautifully malty Vienna without the esters.

At the brewery in a small tulip glass.
A nice balance between the usual IPA and the traditional lager.
The subtle and smooth hops make it quite drinkable.
Note a huge fan but a good one none the less.

Wooly Pig’s India “Farm” Lager is a hoppy lager play on an IPA. 5.6% ABV. More hop forward than an alt and happier than many pale ales. The beer is though a smooth, full flavored lager with a very beautiful copper body and two fingers of dense foam. I drank this beer at the brewery and it was drawn from tap. Very drinkable lager.
