Steodaire is one of many words the ancient Irish used to describe certain types of potatoes, and this one means, “worthless and little.” Pretty harsh. Taters gonna tate. We think all potatoes have worth and can even be used in beer. This half-baked idea became an American-style malt liquor brewed with Irish malt and 100lbs of hand cut potatoes in the mash. Yukon actually taste the starchy goodness in the full-bodied and crisp lager. Low bitterness, smooth flavor, and extremely approachable; you won’t have to russett up any courage to try this. The eyes have it: it’s fingerling-licking good!

On-tap at The Answer Brewpub, Richmond, VA
A: The beer is crystal clear straw yellow in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with no head whatsoever.
S: Very faint aromas of nondescript malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste is similar to the smell and has slightly stronger amounts of nondescript malts along with hints of vodka (without the associated alcohol taste).
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied not eh palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This almost tastes like a mixture of beer and vodka, although the taste is hardly boozy at all.
Serving type: on-tap
