I don't see a date listed anywhere on the can or label.
Appearance: The body is opaque and pale beige. It has a short fluffy white head with a mostly smooth top that has tiny bumps across the surface. Good retention and lacing.
Aroma: The beer has an interesting mixture of aromas that encompass powdered baker's chocolate, garlic, hop bines, and wet grass. The aromas are interesting but are odd and don't quite go together.
Taste; There's a bit of this powdered cocoa flavor to the beer and some grapefruit pith with a bit of rye bread flavor. Towards the end it tastes a bit salty and there is some pineapple skin flavor.
Mouthfeel: It's smooth and thick with decent carbonation. There is a mild bitterness to the beer.
Overall: It's an odd beer because it tastes as if there are a core set of good aromas and flavors and then something is fighting them or pushing back at the aromas and flavors. There is a bitter baker's chocolate aroma and flavor that seems very out of place. The can doesn't state using any form of chocolate so it must be some reaction of components in the beer. It's odd. It doesn't taste like a typical New England IPA but it does have some nice flavors when some of the other flavors aren't getting in the way. It looks pretty in a glass but it isn't something I'm likely to recommend.
