We were super honored to host our new friends from the world famous Dutch brewery, De Molen! We decided on a Black IPA, dry hopped with Citra, Amarillo, Mosaic, Simcoe, and then hit it with some Nelson Sauvin Hop Kief from Freestyle Hops. Cheers!

I got a can of this beer off the single shelf from the Perfect Pour beer store in Dublin, Ohio. It poured an opaque dark with tan head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had roast and pine resin notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with semi sweet dark chocolate malt base with bitter pibe resin and citrus highlights. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer. Probably the best black ipa I've ever had!

Cola black with a thick tan head leaving a fine curtain of lace all around the glass.
Tobacco up front is a little woody and even leafy, while overall it's not as hoppy or piney as I'd expect. There's perhaps some orange rind instead, though it comes to a little pumpernickel in the finish.
The crackly but soft medium-light body finishes semi-bitter.
